2006: Our Year of Jubilee
2006 was a joyous year as we celebrated our 50th Anniversary during a four-day event March 9 - 12:
- Thursday evening Dr. Tyrone Choate (who grew up in FBCMH) led in prayer. Dr. Will Langford (who also grew up in FBCMH) delivered the featured sermon on Embracing What God Has Done.
- Friday evening Rev. Dennis Holmes brought greetings from the Association and Rev.Tommy Hendricks (who was our Minister to Families with Youth and Children for several years) brought the featured sermon on Embracing What God Is Doing.
- Saturday night was a Concert of Joy, which was an evening of worship and praise to God presented by members of the Mt. Healthy congregation.
- The festivities culminated with a Jubilee Celebration on Sunday morning. Guest worship leaders were Rev. Bill Mountsier (who was our Youth Pastor at one time), Dr. Ken Dillard (who is our Associational Collegiate Minister and current Interim Pastor), Dr. George Ellis (who pastored the congregation for 10 years and led us through the building of our current facilities), who spoke on the theme of Envision What God Will Do, Bill Beschman (who was Minister of Music for 34 years), and Rev. Tommy Hendricks. The featured speaker was Rev. Harry Lee Wainscott (who was our first full-time pastor) who preached on This Glorious Gospel. Over 300 people attended the Sunday worship and luncheon that followed.
