Roy is a native Cincinnatian and was raised in Mt. Healthy, graduating from Mt. Healthy High School.   Roy went on to attend the University of Cincinnati and graduated with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He met his wife Nancy while playing co-ed football with the young people of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Healthy.   Although considering himself a Christian as a Catholic, he surrendered his life totally to Christ at the age of 25. 

Roy has continued to be an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Healthy, having served as a Sunday School teacher for children, youth, and adults; Assistant Sunday School director, Finance team chairman, Deacon chairman, pulpit committee chairman, and choir member. He became interim youth pastor in 2002, youth pastor in 2004 and was called to the position of Pastor of Children & Families in 2011.

He and his wife, Nancy, live in Springfield Township and have two awesome boys, Matt and Todd, who love the Lord.

His favorite verse is Psalms 27:1 – The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?
